PR executive couples - how difficult is a marriage between two public relations professionals to work? Does the nature of a PR job itself preclude a so-called happy married life? We would be interested in your opinions. If you are a public relations executive or anyone connected to the PR industry in India with a viewpoint, write to us.

Why is the average PR executive in India so shallow?

Oh now this is controversial isn't it? Let's approach the question from a different angle. This is a question not so often posed by the PR professionals themselves. However, those who interact with pubic relations professionals or with agencies often come away with the feeling that in the process of ensuring adeqaute and positive media coverage and reputation for their client, a PR executive forgets everything else. And a constant need to be nice and polite to their client as well as the media somehow diminishes their capacity to be decent and honest people in everyday life.

Google and public relations agencies

Everytime we need to find soemthing, we go to Google. If you are in the PR industry, you may have often noticed somethnig strange. Several phrases such as pr agencies in India, public relations agencies in india, public relations agency india, PR agency india, pr firm in india etc often do not provide us with any website of real PR agencies on the first or second page of the search results! Isn't that weird? What we get instead is directories which are often copies of each other, yellowpages and a few articles from some newspaper of magazine where the words 'public' and 'relations' are mentioned! Often, it seems that google has failed to understand that public relations should be read as a single word, and not separately.

Public relations resource for PR executives!

the power of a pr plan

By Yvonne Meacham, Real-World PR

Because the success of public relations is tied to public opinion, and because public opinion is a malleable, fickle beast, effective public relations must be ongoing and multifaceted. It must attack on many levels and continue to attack — like germ warfare. Another (nicer) way to think of it is the way a bee pollinates a hydrangea bush: it flits here, there, then back again, never stopping, relentless in its duties. Continued...

By Yvonne Meacham, Real-World PR

Press releases are so easy to write that everyone’s writing them. That’s just the problem. Reporters are inundated with press releases. Some good. Some bad. To combat the problem, reporters have begun to brandish a lethal weapon: the delete option of their e-mail programs. Continued...
